I think 2013 is the year of PH KPOP fans.
Why?
Because there are a lot in store for PH KPOP fans.
There's been a lot a 'rumors' and news about artists coming here.
They want SMTown, M!Countdown, Music Bank, SS5, UOKU Concert, DKFC 2, [insert artist name] Concert. etc etc
Currently, there are KPOP fans voting for MCD to be held here.
But I want raise a question,
DO THEY HAVE THE CAPACITY/MONEY TO ATTEND THESE CONCERTS?
Probably, most or at least 50% of those who want these and those would answer NO. I'm not saying PH fans are poor or something like that but because most KPOP fans here in the PH are STUDENTS, who rely on the allowances they get from their parents I don't think they would have enough time to cope when there's another concert next month just after a concert.
My analysis of the past three announced concert:
Dream Kpop Fantasy Concert (January 19, 2013): Overall, success.
2PM Concert (March): Low sales (Fans got lucky and were upgraded to fill the seats below them)
Seoul Invasion (moved) -> MBLAQ First Contact: CANCELLED due to "technical issues" they cannot resolve
Why was DKFC a success compared to the other two events?
Answer:
Mangement: Partly
PULP is the best or I think the most decent in handling such events. Although they partly failed in the technical and sounds part during Woolim Ent artists' part and they said PULP was on the marketing of the concert than in the production. Still they were a part of it.
Artist in it: Yes.
Seoul Invasion didn't do well because all of the artists in it were rookies who haven't established a solid fanbase here. On the contrary, DKFC had the best and popular acts in KPOP and most of them has a solid fanbase here
Timing: Yes.
DKFC was announced months before the event was held and there was no KPOP concert prior to DKFC. Let's put in mind that a lot of PH KPOP fans are not just in one fandom.
2PM was announced months before but it was after DKFC which was a month before it. So some fans had to choose between DKFC or 2PM. 1 month isn't enough for most fans to cope after DKFC
MBLAQ First Contact was less than a month after the 2PM Concert. Although it was moved and moved again, fans had the time to save more but they had to choose between 2PM and MBLAQ. Plus I think they just announced that it was MBLAQ who's coming after the 2PM Concert so A+s got a bit of a surprise. I doubt it was the 'technnical issue' that caused the concert to be cancelled. They just wasted money for the promotion.
Before you try to make these and those concert happen:
STOP AND CHECK YOUR WALLET.
No money = No concert
That's the truth.
Don't try to make it happen if you can't attend it.
I admit, I want these concerts too, but no.
I can't attend all of it so I'm don't want it to happen FOR NOW.
YES I WANT A TEEN TOP CONCERT HERE IN THE PH
BUT NO.NOT THIS YEAR PLEASE.
